Did you know you can cook in the kitchen with this book and help towards a charity at the same time? Prison Ramen is filled with recipes and stories from behind bars!  My favorite recipe so far are the Hit Man Burritos which I’ve cooked more than once. I love the fact a portion of the proceeds benefit Homeboy Industries, a charity you can find in our Spotlight section. Actor Clifton Collins Jr. from Transcendence, Triple 9 fame and his homeboy Gustavo “Goose” Alvarez collaborated on this recipe book, “Goose” had the initial idea for the book. It has top ramen recipes from anonymous inmates and stars that have been locked up at some point in their life. We all know that Top Ramen is the go to meal when you’re on a tight budget but for me this recipe book makes top ramen a necessity in your kitchen and provides creative recipes for you and the whole family to prepare! Samuel L. Jackson wrote the foreword in this recipe book and we have stars like Danny Trejo’s Machete Ramen and his breaking bread story, from a recipe by Orange is the New Black Taryn Manning to Sons of Anarchy Rusty Coone’s, Jacob Vargas in Traffic, Legendary guitarist Slash, Shia LaBeouf of Man Down, and Clancy Brown from Shawshank Redemption just to name a few. I just have to personally say that it’s really the introduction by Goose and Clifton that tugged my heart strings. Goose write’s about his real life experience in a prison riot while at the same time Clifton Collins Jr. is filming The Experiment, which is a prison based film. Here we have two best friends, homeboys for that matter and one is in the fight for his life and the other just gets to pretend. Oh man!! You have to read it for yourself. Buy PRISON RAMEN Recipe Book,it’s for a good cause! I bought mine at Amazon.com
