Our Charitable Athlete, free agent, Charles Johnson, formerly with the Carolina Panthers is providing college scholarships to students from his alma mater Hawkinsville Highschool in the amount of $20,000. Through the Charles Johnson Foundation, scholarships have been issued over the last four years. In 2016, his foundation increased their scholarships from two to four, opening up the application process to neighboring Bleckley and Wilcox County High Schools.

In addition to issuing college scholarships, The Charles Johnson Foundation also supports students who register to attend The Black College Expo in Atlanta by covering admission costs, meals, and transportation to and from the event, inspiring students with the opportunity to continue their education and attend college.

Last month on June 22nd & 23rd, The Charles Johnson Foundation held a FREE academic and sports camp. Offering a STEM clinic with tech professionals and basketball, baseball, football clinics from professional athletes and NFL players. The clinic provides lunch and is located at Hawkinsville High School.

Charles Johnson and his foundation have created many different programs to help so many in his own community. From providing support for single African American mothers through programs and initiatives, to being apart of opening 124-unit affordable housing project.  Mr. Johnson deserves to make our list of charitable athletes. His foundations is continuing to give back to his community using his platform for good.
